he continues his climb kids! if i haven’t said it enough… he’s the only reason i’m watching this show. well, ok, and maybe to find out what kind of shoes ace was wearing and maybe his jeans… but music wise… it’s taylor.
i also have some comments about some things i’ve been reading about taylor that i’d like to add my thoughts on.
only older people like his voice
to this i say bahh. i’m 24. i think the correct comment is, only people who know what a real voice sounds like like him. seriously though; the rest of the people sound like everyone else singing crap on the radio, taylor is a breath of fresh air, his cander is to die for and his on-stage antics are so entertaining to watch. did you hear him play the harmonica as he walked in to the judges… i mean, i read he could play, but judas!
his looks are going to hurt him this is silliness… he can die his hair, he did it in college according to this picture anyway, if anyone knows any different post it. personally, i think he should keep it grey… it’s badass and he obviously doesn’t have a problem with it. (the above link will take you to a previous band-mate (steven jackson) of taylors site who has some clips and other photos too…) anyways, i think his looks are a killer combination, he has the charm, character and skill of someone twice his age and the energy, attitude, and spontaneousness (?sp) of a 29 year old.
simon doesn’t like him i don’t like simon - so there. in all seriousness though, i think that taylor’s growing on simon; comments have gotten closer to positive everytime he’s performed.
something about his style and voice just makes me smile and i can’t wait to hear him the next time… he’s got soo much energy!

I’ve read in a couple of places that he didn’t dye his hair in college - it was just less gray then. You can’t see the gray in the older b&w photos, but it’s supposedly there. I don’t think the gray matters at all, and I think it actually helps him. A lot of AI viewers didn’t remember names during the auditions, but did remember that they liked “the gray-haired dude”. He recently gave an interview with the Birmingham Fox tv affiliate and said he has/will never dye(d) his hair. I’m cool with this - I think he looks great already, but really it’s all about the voice and the music for me, and he’s unmatchable there.

So I totally agree with xodys….I am 43, female, personally I find Tayor very sexy with the grey hair *blushing*…tonight at 6:30 I am at the store when I look at my watch and scream…”OH MY GOODNESS…I GOTTA BE HOME!!!!” Whew thank god for tivo…I mean I have replayed every Taylor performance 20 plus times and find these web sites very addicting that have TAYLOR HICKS attached to the spot. lol Okay..so honestly…I feel that i know a lot about music(I once had a song or to on the radio…45’s of course I’m old) but Taylor is UNIQUE…in every way. He feels what he sings…he is the soul of his music. So bring it on Taylor we are all routing for you…I appreciate Simons honsty in the music field..but Randy Jackson knows the music field well and he is a huge Taylor fan. I think Idol is lucky to have found Taylor before someone else did. When he sings he reminds me of the passion a singer should have….as I said in an earlier posting his comment of his love for music shows me enough. TAYLOR IS MY AMERICAN IDOL!!!!

I find myself working my schedule around Taylor.
Snuck a video moment at work today. It’s hell hiding an addiction…especially when everyone thinks you are a mature and accomplished woman, an organizer with her own office (where she can close the door of her office and ROCK OUT to “Livin’ in the City” at lunch break.)
And forget family who think you have gone completely off your rocker. OK. “Mom’s gone off again.”
I’ll take the joy of finding a singer who can make me buy a shirt (NEVER BEFORE!), a CD, poke phone numbers on Tuesday night and stay up too late reading other addicts’ stories.

update on jon: it's officially hogdkins lymphoma, but with a pretty optimistic outlook. From the sounds of things and with any luck he'll have a full recovery. It sounds like he may start chemo next tuesday. he goes in tomorrow to get a chest port (like cullens headport, but different :) ). They're in good spirits all things considered, but lets keep the praying up!
...come on, renae...that's no fun...
at least give a little warning...like "avoid watching while eating" or something

guys, not sure how many of you know this at this point, but the liedtke's are in need of some prayers, jon goes in for surgery this morning to have a lymph node removed for a biopsy, he's been told that he potentially has lymphoma link be praying for him, his family, and his doctors
