what in the hail

oh yes. the first real storm of the season came on saturday morning (4.9.2005) @ 4:40am at our place in minnehaha county. the sound of a heavy rain through the open windows woke me up… and as i slowly came to, i noticed the rain getting heavier… then i heard it… the sound of hail! the sound got heavier and heavier, it sounded so great bouncing off the roof… like someone was pouring coarse gravel from the sky. i shouted for heather to close her window and ran down stairs to close a couple of other windows we had left open. after i had closed them i grabbed the camera and took this shot out our back door onto the deck. after that i checked the radar and saw the tiniest little red cell… and thought, damn… too bad it wasn’t enormous… man i love storms.
